| SOLEMNITY OF MARY MOTHER OF GOD: In defining the mystery of the Incarnation, the early church fathers explored the theology surrounding the position and status of Mary, the mother of Jesus. It was at the Council of Ephesus in 431AD that Mary was acclaimed as “THEOTOKOS” Mother of God. As we celebrate her roll in the mystery of our salvation let us rejoice in her maternal intercession. Hail full of grace. |

| YEAR OF FAITH: Pope Benedict has called 2012 ‘Year of Faith.’ It is an invitation to grow in our personal understanding and devotion to our Faith. We all could do with a little renewal! The ‘year of faith’ is also an invitation to reach out to those who have fallen away from the church and those with no faith. Watch this space. |
THE SEASON OF CHRISTMAS; In Rome, the Crib remains until the 2nd February the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, 40 days after Christmas. In Coventry our Cribs and decorations should come down by Monday, 9th January, which is the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, the formal end of the Christmas season. However, do retain 12 Christmas religious cards. Intrigued? Good. Watch and wait.
