DURING the WEEK at ST THOMAS MORE Monday: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. 7.00pm-9.00pm. Come and spend some time with the Lord.
Thursday: Feast of the Presentation of the Lord or Candlemas: 40 days following the celebration of Christmas. Thursday is our Day of Prayer for Vocations. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the day. Please spend some time before the Lord on this special day. See list at the back of the church and sign up today.
Friday: First Friday of the Month: Morning and Evening Mass today.

CHRISTMAS CARDS: Project 1; Take card number 1 and 2. Cut out 1 card making a long/broad strip to include the striking features of the picture. This will become a bookmark. Decorate as required with ribbon. Then send this bookmark to the person who sent you the card with a biblical message on the back. Repeat with second card except omit message. Please keep 2nd bookmark for the next project.
Coventry Vocations Mass: To be held on Monday, 6th February, 7.00 pm, at All Souls Church, Kingsland Avenue. The main Celebrant is to be Msgr. John Armitage. Please do your best to attend this celebration.
RCIA (Journey in Faith) Next meeting on Thursday 2nd February at 7.45 p.m. at St John Vianney Parish, Mount Nod. Topic:  “Why is the teaching of the church so important”

DIOCESAN EVENTS: Pilgrimage to the HOLY LAND with Canon Mervyn Tower and Bishop David McGough. 18-27th October 2012. See poster. If I was to go with anyone, Canon Mervyn is the best guide and director. Well worth it! WORLD YOUTH DAY 2013: The Holy Father has sent an invitation to join him on the next WYD in July 2013. If you are like to represent the parish at this event, see Fr. Philip. Information meeting 1st Feb at Cardinal Newman, Coventry.

Thursday:  Sign Language Class 6-00-7.00pm in the MRR for anyone interested in learning a new language.
Friday: Stepping Stones; Parent and Toddlers meet in the MRR from 1.00pm
PRAYER CARDS: There are prayer cards for the canonisation of Blessed John Henry Newman, and Blessed John Paul II at the back of the church. Prayer of intercession is a powerful way to bring before the Lord our specific intentions. Especially remember our ‘new school intention’ in your prayers as well as your own personal needs and intentions.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE SICK; The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, 11th February. Mass will be celebrated at Bevan Court for some our housebound parishioners. Details to follow.

PARISH YOUTH GROUP: Meeting THIS Sunday Jan 29th from 4.15pm- 6.00pm followed by mass at 6pm. Further meetings on Sunday Feb 26th and Sunday March 25th. Year 7 upwards. 
PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE: I have invited 8 members of the parish to become part of a finance team which will help me to administer and oversee the parish finances. The first meeting will be on Thursday evening at 8pm in MRR.

LENT 2012 begins on Ash Wednesday 22nd February. Watch this space for Lenten activities.
CONGRATULATIONS to Malachi Eoghan Sincliar WALSH who was baptised on Saturday. Do remember him and his family in your payers.
